The name “Slumdog Millionaire” basically means a kid coming from an overcrowded and poor area of the city becoming millionaire.
And well, the movie it’s all about it, a poor unfortunate kid trying to survive the life he knows. Fighting and working hard to locate what he’s looking for and on a desperate shot he finds himself competing and winning millions based on his knowledge of life.
It’s a great title for a great movie. “Slumdog millionaire” it says it all.
Early in the film we see the young Jamal dive into a latrine pit to steal a glimpse at a visiting movie star. How does his single-mindedness to see this movie star reveal his determination?

First of all, who does that?! You have to really really really want something to dive yourself into a latrine pit. Not everyone would do it and, surely, not everyone would do it just to see a movie star. Just thinking how badly did Jamal wanted the autograph makes me think about the stuff I care that much to do something like it.
Examples of Jamal’s determination are all over the movie, like when he started working pretending to be a tour guide at the Taj Mahal to win some money and then to returned to Mumbai to locate Latika, and of course, do it. And not only that, but he also saved her and brought her with him.

Also, the simple fact that he entered the show just because he knew Latika would be watching him. That’s love, my friends! The determination, the power he has to fight for the things he wants it’s absolutely incredible.

ResponderEliminarThe tittle Slumdog Millionaire its pretty ironic, because Slum its a "village" in conditions of extreme poverty, who will ever imagine that a kid that was born in a palce like this could be a millionaire, and thanks to all he has suffered in his life, the knowloedge obtained made of him a rich person.
